The Mangbetu jars feature a half-open mouth showing sometimes sharp teeth refering to cannibalism. Ears stick out. These objects are adorned with necklaces and scarifications. Among the Mangbetu, refinement of the court was side by side with cannibal customs. Mangbetu King called "Munza" was nicknamed " the cannibal king".
