The Punu people ( also called Bapunu, plurial of Mupunu ) form an ethnic group mainly settled southern Gabon. They migrated during the XVIIIe century.They live in independant villages divided into clans and families. Social cohesion is brought by the Moukoji society, whose main role is to subjugate harmful forest spirits.
