Shamba mask    (N°332 )

Settled on the south bank of the Benue river in Nigeria, the Chamba held out against the Fulani's conquest attempts, nomadic ethnic group which were an important group settling in northern Nigeria. They are known for their famous buffalo mask, with two flat jaws in line with the head. The statuary, less frequent, is admired by lovers of primitive lines. Beautiful weathered patina. The numerous wearers of this authentic object let their marks inside this object coming from the very deep Nigerian forest. The connoisseurs will admit that the price of this object is much lower than its real value.
