Dogon door    (N°994 )

The Dogon thoroughly carve their granary doors. The set depends on the building purpose, but also on the characters ' symbolism and on the protection aim they fulfil. They are put up high to dissuade predators, and implying a great nimbleness from  who wants to get supplies. Several boards of unequal  width make it up, tied with iron ligatures.
